Nitong lumipas na mga araw ay may mga napabalita sa social media na magkakaroon daw ng vigil or rally sa Tandang Sora. Ito ay ipinakalat ng ilang mga users sa Facebook at naishare naman ng iba sa pag-aakalang ito ay totoo at opisyal na pahayag. Ang ganitong iresponsableng pagbabalita ay nagiging dahilan upang lalong gipitin at pahirapan ang mga kapatid nating nasa Tandang Sora. Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na marami sa kabilang sa grupong ito ay nag-uunahan sa pagpapakalat ng hindi pa tiyak o maling impormasyon gamit ang social media. Nakalulungkot na naging ugali na nila na magpakalat hindi lamang ng mga maling impormasyon kundi maging ng mga paninira sa kanilang kapuwa upang maghasik ng pagkakabaha-bahagi at pag-aaway sa kalipunan ng mga defenders at magamit din ang mga ito sa pangangalap ng salapi sa mga walang malay. Dahil sa patuloy pa rin ang iba sa kanila sa pananawagan na mag-vigil sa kabila ng tagubilin na sila ay tumigil na, ay nais po naming liwanagin na walang kinalaman si Ka Jun Samson at ang kaniyang mga kasama sa ganitong panawagan lalo pa nga at sa aming pananaw ang pagsasagawa ng vigil ngayon, ay magbubunga lamang ng kapahamakan sa mga kapatid, defender man o hindi.
Nakikiusap kami sa mga defenders na gumagamit ng social media (FB, twitter etc.), na huwag itong gamitin sa mga pangloloko at pagliligaw sa mga kapatid kundi sa paghahatid lamang ng totoong impormasyon gaya ng mga tunay na nangyayari sa Iglesia, lalo na ang katotohanang nakasalig sa Biblia upang maipagtanggol ang Iglesia laban sa mga tiwaling nangangasiwa dito.
Nananawagan din kami na huwag sanang basta kayo maniniwala sa mga social media posting at agad ay matuksong ipakalat ito kahit hindi naman verified at hindi kayo nakakatiyak na ito ay totoo. Ma-realize po sana ng lahat na kapag ang posting ay tungkol sa paninira, malamang sa hindi, ang gumawa nito ay mapanirang tao at walang mabuting layunin kaya hindi mapagtitiwalaan. May kasabihan, “Ang maniwala sa sabi-sabi, walang bait sa sarili.” Higit sa lahat, sinasabi ng Biblia na ang mapanira ay kahanay ng mamamatay tao at tiyak na hindi magmamana ng kaharian ng Diyos (I Cor. 6:10).
A Call to All True Defenders and to Those who Have Genuine Concern for the Church
A few days ago it was announced in social media that there would be a vigil or rally in Tandang Sora. Some Facebook users shared it while others re-posted it thinking that it was an accurate and official announcement. This kind of irresponsible action could result to more harassments against our brethren who live in TS. It is not the first time that quite a few of those who belong to such group have tried to outdo each other in posting and disseminating unverified and false informations using the social media. Sad to say, it has become their way of life just as it has become their habit to spread malicious accusations against others, sowing division and animosity among the defenders. There are times when false informations are also used to solicit money from the unsuspecting. Because some of them have not yet ceased calling for a vigil despite the cease and desist order they have received, we are forced to inform you that brother Jun Samson and those who are with him have nothing to do with such announcement especially when we feel that holding an untimely vigil may cause harm to the brethren, defenders or not.
We appeal to every defender engaged in social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc…) not to use the said medium to deceive and mislead the brethren, instead, it should be used to provide correct and trustworthy informations such as, what is truly happening in the Church, and most of all, Bible based messages in order to defend the truth and the Church against its wayward leaders. We also call on everyone not to readily believe whatever they read in social media and be tempted to share unverified and poisonous postings. May everyone realize that when a posting intends to destroy one’s image, the one who posted it, most probably, is a reviler and has no good intention, thus, must be rejected. People say that “he who readily believes anything he hears or reads doesn’t really care about others and even about himself.” Most of all, the Bible says that a reviler is like a murderer who will surely not inherit the kingdom of God (I Cor. 6:10).
